How do I hang a heavy framed oil painting?

Secure the frame using appropriate wall fixings that match the weight of the wood and gesso structure. Ensure the picture wire and D-rings on the back are robust enough to support the painting safely.

Where should I place these paintings at home?

Keep paintings away from direct sunlight and damp environments to protect the canvas and pigments. Living rooms and hallways with stable ambient temperatures suit these landscape artworks best.

How do I distinguish watercolours from oil paintings?

Watercolour paintings sit under glass on paper to protect the delicate water-soluble pigments from moisture. Oil paintings utilise textured canvas surfaces that remain unglazed and open to the air.

What periods do these landscape paintings cover?

The available selection spans from the late nineteenth century through the early twentieth century. Works reflect artistic movements including British Impressionism and nineteenth century realism.
