How do I adjust the height?

Most adjustable stands use a brass screw key or a sliding stem mechanism hidden within the central column. Turning the key loosens the inner rod so the desk can be raised or lowered by hand. Once the desired height is reached, tighten the screw firmly to secure the weight of the book or score without slipping.

Can these hold heavy modern books?

The sturdy mahogany and walnut ledges easily support large volumes, atlases, and heavy art books. The solid timber construction handles substantial weight when the base is stable. Ensure the tightening screws on adjustable models are fully engaged if you place heavy ledgers on an inclined desk.

Where should I place a music stand?

These pieces suit corners of living rooms, studies, or music rooms where their timber tones complement traditional and eclectic interiors. Freestanding canterburys work well beside armchairs as magazine tidies. Keep them away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight to protect the polished wood finishes and delicate burr walnut veneers.
