Where should I put a small wall table?

These pieces suit narrow hallways, entrance passages, or compact living spaces where floor area is limited. Their shallow depth allows them to sit flush against a wall without obstructing movement. They also function effectively in bedrooms or dining rooms as display surfaces for lamps, ceramics, or mirrors mounted directly above.

How do I secure a wall console?

Many wall consoles and console tables rely on the wall for stability, using brackets or direct fixings to bear the load safely. Professional installation ensures the weight of marble tops is supported securely. Consult a specialist if the original fixing points require adaptation for modern walls.

Can these tables hold heavy items?

Tables featuring heavy marble tops possess inherent weight and stability, but the mounting method determines their load capacity. Lighter wooden side tables suit decorative objects rather than heavy collections. Assess the construction of the legs and wall fixings before placing substantial items on the surface.

How do I tell Victorian from Edwardian styles?

Victorian pieces often display heavier proportions, darker woods like mahogany or burr walnut, and robust revival styles such as Gothic or Rococo. They tend to feature dense carving and rich ornamentation. Edwardian items frequently lean towards lighter satinwood finishes, delicate inlay work, and simpler geometric forms like spade feet.
