Where should I place a standard lamp?

Tall standard lamps suit corners of reception rooms or beside seating areas where they provide vertical height and ambient light. Ensure the lamp has sufficient clearance from foot traffic to protect the lacquered wooden columns.

How do I care for lacquered wood?

Dust surfaces gently with a soft, dry cloth and keep pieces away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes. Avoid liquid cleaners or polishes that might damage the historical painted decoration.

What is the difference between standard and table lamps?

Standard lamps stand directly on the floor as major vertical furniture pieces, while table lamps sit on surfaces like sideboards or desks. Both share similar chinoiserie motifs and lacquered wooden construction.

Can these lamps be used with modern shades?

Fabric shades complement the painted and gilded lamp bodies and can be selected to match existing interior colour schemes. Ensure the shade fitting matches the gallery or bulb holder dimensions of the lamp.
