How do I choose the right stool height?

Consider whether the piece functions as a footrest beside a low armchair or acts as an independent seat by a window. Matching the height to surrounding furniture ensures comfortable use. Measuring the clearance under existing tables or the seat level of armchairs helps integrate the stool smoothly into your room layout.

Can I reupholster a vintage stool?

Many pieces arrive ready for reupholstering or wear faded textiles that invite new fabric choices. This allows you to apply modern or period-appropriate materials to suit your interior scheme. Working with traditional webbing and padding materials preserves the historical character of wooden frames from the Victorian and Georgian periods.

What is a window seat stool?

A window seat stool is an elongated bench built to fit the width of a bay window or positioned against a wall. These items combine the function of a low seat with decorative timber carving. They often display mahogany or walnut frames with generous upholstered surfaces designed for resting or reading.
