How do I hang a cage chandelier?

These fixtures require secure ceiling anchoring due to the combined weight of the metal frame and dense crystal dressings. Professional installation ensures the electrical load and physical suspension are safely managed. Position the chandelier at a height that allows clear passage underneath while anchoring the weight directly into ceiling joists rather than plaster alone.

Can these chandeliers be rewired?

Most antique fixtures are adapted for modern electrical standards while preserving their original internal sockets and candle tubes. Rewiring ensures safe daily use in contemporary homes. Consult a specialist restorer to update the internal wiring discreetly without altering the external appearance of the brass or crystal elements.

How do I clean the crystal drops?

Maintenance involves gentle cleaning of individual glass drops using a mild solution and a soft cloth while the chandelier remains suspended. Removing the crystal requires careful handling of old wire pins. Regular dusting prevents grime accumulation on the multifaceted surfaces, preserving the reflective quality of the glass and metal framework.

What rooms suit a cage chandelier?

The open, reflective design works well in reception rooms, dining spaces, and high-ceilinged hallways where ambient light can bounce off the surrounding walls. Their vertical proportions suit spaces with generous clearance. Pairing the fixture with dimmer switches allows you to control the intensity of the light passing through the dense crystal swags.
