Miles Barton specialises in art and antiques from the late 17th century onwards, with a particular emphasis on period portraiture. There is always a broad range available for both period and modern interiors including oil paintings, drawings, pastels, engravings and other works of art such as sculpture.
He has over 30 years experience in the fine art and antiques world and was previously a senior specialist at Sotheby’s in London. He has made many discoveries which are now with internationally recognised museums and institutions including: British Museum, London; Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Paris; Royal Institute of British Architects; Parliamentary Art Collection, London; Garrick Club, London; Oxford & Cambridge Universities.
He has advised auction houses and private collectors and written about British history and art for publications including the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography and the Georgian Group Journal.
