The top section features a rotating reeded ring, which holds the five brass double hooks, and is topped with a turned, pointed finial. Below, three straight reeded supports form a tapering triangular block frame. The frame displays three further brass hooks at the half way point, coinciding with a decorative internal turned reeded spacer which boasts an upright finial on top and an inverted finial underneath. Lower down the coat stand, the original copper brass ring is present, secured by decorative circular brass supports against the upright bars, for storing umbrellas / walking sticks etc.

The base of the frame terminates on a moulded circular plinth, which is suspended off the ground, uniting the ends of the splayed frame. Inserted into the raised moulded plinth is the original metal drip tray. Three shaped bracket feet splay outwards from the base of the hallstand frame to a diameter of 65cm (25½” or 2ft 2½”) meaning this is a very sturdy hatstand and unlikely to topple over. This type of hallstand is designed to be freestanding and can be placed anywhere in a room, as it can be accessed from 360 degrees. The item is solid in joint, does not wobble and is ready to use. Ideal for use in the hallway at home or even in an office setting.
