Aramis Antiques has dated these Victorian Silver Salt Cellars to the 1880s.
The salt bowls each have a low bulbous body, standing on three hoof feet, with beaded rims. They are gilt lined, a mark of quality. The salt spoons have similar beaded edges, and also have gilt lined bowls. The set comes with its original custom made box lined with magenta velvet and silk. All items are in very good condition, and the silver has no dents or dinks. Though originally made as salt bowls, the bowls can equally be used for pepper or other condiments. The gilt linings will protect the silver.
