The oak bergère suite comprises of a three-seat couch with two armchairs. Having a rectangular design to the frame of the suite, with a straight top rail with scroll-ends, secured by elegant shaped scroll end arms, incorporating carved acanthus leaves, with shaped vertical supports and a blind fretwork caved frieze, which terminates on scroll toe feet, decorated with shell carvings. The suite retains the original twin panel cane-work to the sides of the arms and single panel cane work to the back, which are in excellent original condition. There are no holes or lose sections to the cane work (it is rare to see a bergère suite where the cane work is in excellent condition). The oak bergère suite is of good seat height; it does not sit too low, like other bergere suites you see in the market place. The bergère suite has been recently upholstered (at some point in the past), to a professional standard, in top quality and hard-wearing pale gold rayon taffeta upholstery; finished with matching pale gold rope cord to the cushions and chair frames. We have stuffed the cushions with new feathers, so they are plump and ensure sufficient support and enable them to be extremely comfortable to sit on. The seat bases and backs of the seat have been upholstered with matching fabric. All cushion covers feature Velcro so that the top covers can be removed if they need to be cleaned. The oak bergère suite features a firm sprung base below, which makes the suite frame supportive. The suite seats up to five people comfortably. This is a very comfortable bergère suite due to the deep design of the frame.

This is a fine quality antique English George V three-piece double cane solid oak bergère suite, circa 1920, which has been recently upholstered to a professional standard, in good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the frame but nothing significant considering its age. The frame has been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore boasts a fantastic colour and patination. The suite retains its original cane work back and arms, which are in excellent original condition, with no damage or holes. It is rare to see a bergère suite which have their cane work in perfect condition, with no holes. The frame is also solid with no breaks to the arms or back of the suite.
