Vicky Thomas Antiques has dated this 19th Century Landscape Watercolour to the 19th Century.

The painting is by Arthur Willett (1857 - 1918) , who exhibited extensively, most notably at the Royal Academy seven times over six seasons, The Royal Academy of Artists in Birmingham, The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin and the Royal Scottish Academy to name but a few.

The picture is presented in a pale gilt metal frame, with an ivory mount.
Of particular interest are the inscriptions on the reverse, the painting having been gifted by Arthur Basil Cottle an author and medievalist of fine repute to MJ Crossley Evans a great scholar and collector of antiquities - both men were known as supreme raconteurs! There is also a short resume of the artists career and exhibitions.
5cm framed.
