A Victorian cast iron serpent bench, currently painted in black with teal seat and back rest.
 
These benches are most commonly assiociated with Harrogate and Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. According to friends of Valley Park, Harrogate the association heralds from Harrogate being a spa town and Asclepius, the Greek god of health and medicine had a staff with a snake entwined around it.
