A Victorian Staffordshire flatback figure is an earthenware ceramic ornament produced in Staffordshire, England, during the nineteenth century, featuring a plain unglazed back designed to sit flush against a wall or mantelpiece.

These figures were cast in press moulds using local earthenware clay, coated in a white lead glaze, and hand-painted with overglaze enamel colours and gilded accents.
