Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in Austria during the early nineteenth century, Vienna regulators were highly accurate weight-driven or spring-driven mechanical clocks. They are characterised by clean architectural lines, long wooden cases with glazed doors, and visible pendulums.

These clocks were predominantly crafted using walnut, mahogany, or rosewood veneers, often accented with ebonised wooden columns and architectural moldings. The movements typically feature enamel dials, brass hands, and brass pendulums.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples feature two-part white enamel dials with Roman numerals, finely turned wooden detailing, and a pendulum marked with R/A (Retard/Avance) on the bob. The case construction generally uses solid wood frames with thin decorative veneers.

Mount the clock on a tall, narrow wall space, within a hallway, or above a console table to create an architectural anchor. The rich dark tones of walnut and ebonised wood pair effectively with muted backdrop colours and modern minimalist furniture.

Ensure the clock is mounted completely level on a stable wall to maintain correct beat movement. Clean the timber case using a soft, dry cloth and suitable microcrystalline wax, avoiding water or chemical cleaners on the enamel dial and metal movement.
