A George III mahogany BRACKET CLOCK of smaller size, made by James Maitland, London.

The 8-day movement retains its original verge escapement and strikes the hours on a bell, repeating hours at will by means of the pull-cord to the side. The engraved silvered dial features Roman numerals, has a strike/silent control in the arch above the XII and is signed by the maker above the hands and VI.

The case features a brass handle to the domed top and a brass slip frame around the front door. The whole item is supported on cast-brass ogee feet.
