Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco barware created between the 1920s and 1940s is characterised by streamlined geometric forms, clean symmetry, and polished metallic finishes. Designs frequently incorporated subtle ribbed or reeded horizontal motifs, reflecting the modern industrial aesthetic of the era.

High-end wine coolers from this period were predominantly crafted from electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) or solid brass with a heavy silver plate finish. These materials provided excellent thermal retention while maintaining a polished, reflective exterior surface suitable for formal service.

Authentic French silver-plated items feature stamped maker marks on the base or rim, often including manufacturer symbols, maker names, and silver-plating quality hallmarks. Pieces produced by premier houses like Christofle typically display specific balance scale trade marks alongside distinct model signatures.

An antique silver wine cooler serves as a focal point when placed atop a bar cart, sideboard, or dining table. Beyond beverage service, interior designers often repurpose these vessels as striking decorative containers for floral arrangements or rolled linen napkins.

Clean silver plate using a soft cloth and specialized silver polish to gently remove tarnish without stripping the plated layer. Avoid abrasive sponges, wash by hand in warm soapy water immediately after use, and dry thoroughly to prevent water spotting and oxidisation.
