The divides are secured by finely turned horizontal bars. The compartments are ideal for storing magazines, newspapers or music sheets. Below is a moulded base, with a drawer below, which retains the original turned mahogany knobs and is mahogany lined, constructed with hand-dovetailed joints. The Canterbury is raised on baluster shaped ring turned reeded legs which stands on brass castor collars and wheels. The Canterbury has been constructed from the finest mahogany timbers.

Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany Canterbury, with carved scroll detail, circa 1850, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The Canterbury has a fantastic colour and patination; having been cleaned and professionally French polished by hand in our workshop. The panels are complete, with no missing sections or brakes. The drawer retains the original mahogany knob and original mahogany drawer linings, displaying fine hand dovetailing and stands on its original turned feet and brass castors. The Victorian mahogany Canterbury has been constructed from the finest materials. This Victorian mahogany Canterbury is solid in joint and ready to use.
