Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian Regency solid mahogany Canterbury, with small proportions, circa 1830, in excellent original condition. The Canterbury comprises an outer frame with simple straight supports at each corner. The Canterbury is divided into three compartments, by four rows of simple, straight supports, each row topped with a curved horizontal bar. The compartments are ideal for storing magazines, newspapers or music sheets. Below is a scribe moulded drawer, which retains the original floral carved brass knob and is mahogany lined, constructed with hand dovetailing. The Canterbury is raised on baluster shaped ring turned reeded legs which stands on brass castor collars and wheels. The Canterbury has been constructed from the finest mahogany timbers.

Condition Report:
This Canterbury magazine rack is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The Canterbury has a fantastic colour and patination; having been cleaned and professionally French polished by hand in our workshop. The panels are complete, with no missing sections or brakes. The drawer retains the original floral carved brass knob and original mahogany drawer linings, displaying fine hand dovetailing and stands on lovely reeded turned feet and brass castors. The Canterbury has been constructed from the finest materials. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
