Description

An unusual early 19thC mahogany chest or washstand. With turned rosewood recessed knobs and fabulous carved lions paw feet.

The interior is lined in zinc and painted.

This is probably a bespoke commission dating to around 1820-30. The original purpose is not that clear but it could either be a wash stand or a drinks table, with space for wine bottles etc.
