Originally designed for use as a washstand, they are now commonly used as display or occasional tables. Perfect for displaying photographs or ornaments, or for placing the telephone on in the hallway, or for use in the entrance of a restaurant. It is of superb quality, extremely well-constructed, sturdy and heavy in weight. Designed with a shaped gallery upstand, with a small raised shelf, above two large working drawers, which have been constructed with oak-lined hand-dovetailed joints and cock-beaded fronts. The drawer fronts retain the original turned oak knobs. The drawers run smoothly and closes flush to the frame. The washstand is raised on tapering block legs, featuring chamfered corners, which are united by a galleried lower shelf.
