Description:

This is a fine quality and original antique English George V Bentwood solid beech hallstand, in the manner of Thonet, circa 1920, in excellent original condition. The top section features a crown of 8-curved “S” shaped coat hooks above a large central turned column, which is topped with a turned beehive finial. Further below, the base features a ring, which supports umbrellas and sticks. Four curved twin legs support the hallstand firmly on the ground.

Condition Report:

This is a fine quality and original antique English Edwardian Bentwood solid beech hallstand, in the manner of Thonet, circa 1920, in excellent original condition. The coat stand is in excellent and original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. As the stand boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. Importantly, there are no missing hooks or hook knobs (unlike others you see for sale). There are also no breaks to the arms / hooks (which is very common with these types of hallstands). This is a two-piece item; the top section lifts off for ease of transport and access. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.

Dimensions:

Height = 193.4cm or 76?” or 6ft 4?”

Diameter = 71cm or 32” or 2ft 4”
