C18th French Provincial Walnut Serpentine Commode; of Desirable Neat Proportions

18th century
Description

C18th French provincial walnut serpentine commode; of desirable neat proportions; the solid walnut top having a shaped outline with a moulded edge above the serpentine front having two full length drawers with shaped moulded panels and good original large brass handles and escutcheons. The serpentine shaped sides with arched panels and shaped aprons below, the front shaped apron centred with a carved foliate motif. Raised on elegant cabriole legs terminating in small cloven hoof feet.

French circa 1780

Good condition commensurate with age and use. Good mellow colour and patina.
