Yolanda Gray Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
There are no holes or lose sections to the cane work (it is rare to see a bergere suite where the cane work is in excellent condition). The suite has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality and hard wearing aqua blue colour structured cotton polyester mix; finished with matching piping to the cushions and chair frames. The cushions have been filled with fibre to ensure sufficient support (to avoid sagging) and to ensure they are extremely comfortable to sit on. The seat bases and backs of the seat have been upholstered with felt. All cushion covers feature zips so that the top layers can be removed if they need to be cleaned. The suite features a firm sprung base below, which makes the suite extremely comfortable. The suite seats up to five people comfortably. This is a very comfortable suite due to the deep design of the frame.

Condition Report:
Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the frame but nothing significant considering its age. The frame has been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore boasts a fantastic colour and patination. The suite retains its original cane work arms, which are in excellent original condition, with no damage or holes. It is rare to see Bergere suites, which have their cane work in perfect condition, with no holes. The frame is also solid with no breaks to the arms or back of the suite. The suite has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality and hard wearing aqua blue colour structured cotton polyester mix; finished with matching piping to the cushions and chair frames. All cushion covers feature zips so that the top layers can be removed if they need to be cleaned. Therefore, the upholstery is in excellent new condition, with no signs of fading, wear and tear, or marks. The suite is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
