A Highly Decorative Black Forest Carved Wood Bear Hall Stand

This finely carved black forest lime wood bear hall stand is carved in the form of a large bear standing on its hind legs with its front paws gripping a tree. The tree incorporates several branches which form hat and coat hooks, amongst which there is a small bear sat at the top. There is an oval mirror at eye level and below there is a hoop with a recessed drip pan for storing walking sticks and umbrellas. This superb piece is very well carved showing good detail. The eyes are inset in glass and are very realistic. This hall stand is in good condition with some minor age related age repairs.
