A rare 19th century bronze sculpture of a pig by famous French sculptor Isidore jules Bonheur 1827- 1901 .

Isidore jules Bonheur best known as one of the 19th century’s most distinguished French Animalier sculptors . He began his career as an artist working with his elder sister Rosa Bonheur in the studio of their father , drawing instructor Raymond Bonheur. Isidore exhibited in the salon Paris and also the Royal academy in London . Bonheur was awarded the legion of honneur in 1895 .

Good dark brown patina , signed to base .
