Stylish 18th Century Italian Carved Hall Bench

Description

A fantastic mid 18th Century Italian hall bench, the back with pierced carving in the form of cherubs either side of a foliate swag cartouche with diamond pattern below, scroll arm supports with further pierced carving and adorned with shells and terminating in scroll toes. The seat with a frieze below in a sequence of carved shells and lower stretcher behind in the form of adjoined scrolls.

A rare and stylish piece with elaborate flowing carving throughout. Circa 1760
