George I Walnut Lowboy, Circa 1730

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Tom Scott Antiques

A beautifully proportioned and super quality George I walnut lowboy with three drawers, circa 1730 and in lovely condition, the most fabulous colour and patina.

A good honest piece and all absolutely as you would hope to find it, from the end grain edging to the top, the original pine drawer sides with their banded inlay and these pointed pad feet.

A good size piece to use as a hall console or an occasional table for a lamp etc perhaps.

The lowboy have been allowed to age gracefully and I have had this sympathetically restored, so it is in great condition but still looks absolutely as it should.

The top of the lowboy is set with four burr walnut panels, inlaid and finished with the end grain edging.

The handles have been replaced at some point, but work very well with the piece. ( afraid I don''t have a key for the top drawer ).

Wonderful piece of early 18th century English walnut and will look fabulous anywhere!

Any queries, don''t hesitate to get in touch.
