Unusual Wuilliam IV Rosewood Whatnot

19th century
Description

Unusual design William IV Scottish rosewood veneered 2 tier whatnot. Superb veneers used throughout with wonderful grain patterns. Umbrella type base with original set in castors. Single drawer to the front with original turned rosewood knobs. Nice thin turnings to the shelf supports. Both shelves are cross grain veneered on a slight curve on all sides.

The condition is very good apart from some old shrinkage repairs to the shelves, there are some let in dovetails underneath at the natural joints.

The colour and patination are superb.
