E W Cousins and Son has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
These flanked by open double C scrolls with central inlaid ovals these repeated at the ends of sofa. A further inlaid rail below. The square corner supports running into the swept back legs. The shaped front arm supports inlaid with trailing foliage within line inlay the scrolled tops having inlaid roundels. The upholstered seat having serpentine front with satinwood banded rail below. All on square tapered legs with spade feet on castors and inlaid panels above. The Ladies and Gents pair of armchairs and the set of 4 single chairs all having top rails with inlaid domed panels of shells flanked by foliate inlays. The backs having panels inlaid again with dolphins, urns and foliate scrolls all flanked by 4 upright rails each pair joined by inlaid ovals all sitting on line inlaid cross rails with a further conforming rail below. All within double strung frames. All chairs with upholstered seat with serpentine fronts on double strung front and side rails. All on square tapered line inlaid legs with spade feet. The armchairs having padded armrests with line inlaid scrolled arms topped by inlaid medallions. The legs also topped with inlaid ovals and both on castors.
