George I Walnut Cabriole Leg Lowboy

18th century
Description

Good George I walnut cabriole leg lowboy of wonderful colour and patina; the rectangular, very well figured, quarter veneered top having herringbone inlay and crossbanded with a slender moulded edge; above two short drawers and one long drawer with repeated herringbone banding and overlip moulded edges having brass handles with shaped backplates. The shaped apron raised on four cabriole legs, terminating in pad feet. The sides being in original stained pine.

English circa 1720

Good 'Country House' condition; the top with historic patch, with a lovely mellow colour and excellent patination.
