Description

A rare Antique Mahogany Wine Bottle Canterbury, dating from the 19th century. Most unusual in its form having 8 wine Bottle sections above two long drawers supported on turned feet terminating in Brass casters.

Most Canterburys were for the storage of sheet music and cellerets were often lead lined with lids to protect the wine bottle. This piece seems to be a hybrid form and may have been a bespoke order.
