Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A snap top breakfast table, also known as a tilt-top table, is an 18th-century furniture design featuring a hinged top that can be tilted vertically when not in use. This allowed the table to be moved to the perimeter of a room to clear floor space in Georgian interiors.

Tables from the George III period were predominantly crafted from solid dense mahogany or mahogany veneers, often featuring crossbanded borders in satinwood or rosewood, supported by a turned column and brass castor feet.

Authentic pieces feature a hand-forged brass or iron spring catch mechanism attached to a solid timber block atop the pedestal column. Traces of historical hand-planing, original brass castors, and period-correct joinery beneath the top further indicate authenticity.

Pairing a rich mahogany table with contemporary upholstered dining chairs creates an eclectic contrast. The warm wood tones complement neutral palettes, textured linen wallcoverings, and minimalist modern lighting.

Regular dusting with a soft microfiber cloth and periodic application of natural beeswax polish maintains the wood patina. Keeping the table away from direct heat sources and controlling room humidity prevents timber shrinkage or veneer lifting.
