Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The timber in the thin shelves is superb and there are no cracks. All the edges of the shelves have an applied double reed moulding which carries on all round on all four sides. The ball and cup finials to the top are superb as are all the tunrings. The whatnot has a drawer to the base which is cock beaded and has its original brass knobs, the drawer linings are all ash. The whatnot terminates in nice shape legs with lovely original brass castors.

The piece is in first class condition with no damage and no repairs and retains its original finish and patination. It has been waxed once since it came in and it glows !!
