Freestanding or Hanging Shelves in Mahogany

19th century
Description

Nice quality and decorative set of freestanding or hanging shelves, made in solid mahogany with 3 shelves.

This set of shelves has a carved cartouche to the top shelf, fretwork carving for the vertical supports and shelf backs, with fine turned column supports to the front.

Waterfall effect for the shelves, getting deeper and wider towards the base.

This shelf can be used freestanding, but I would be tempted to add a securing pin or fixing to the wall behind for peace of mind. Or you may prefer to hang it on your wall, in which case you would need to add two fixings at the base and also top level for support.

Some losses to the tops of some small finials, but not terribly noticeable.

Measuring:

24” or 61cm high

23” or 58.5cm wide

6” or 15cm deep

I can arrange delivery to you, whether you are within the UK or require an international delivery service, please do get in touch…as a mainland UK guide, a delivery for something around the size of a chest of drawers within approx 150 miles will be £75 to you, but if you if you are in Scotland, Wales, Ireland or Cornwall please get in touch to confirm delivery costs!

Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
