The pattern was designed by McDowell, Stevenson & Co of Glasgow, circa 1840 and was later copied by other foundries, most notably by the John Finch Foundry, in Dudley Worcestershire. These particular benches are stamped with a number to the back legs.

In very good structural condition with no signs of repair although one leaf group is missing from one seat, the white gloss paintwork needs minor touching up where some rust spots starting to appear.
