Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian bracket clock is a portable timepiece housed in a timber case, usually mahogany or walnut, designed during the eighteenth century. They feature fusee movements, often with verge or anchor escapements, brass dials, and ornate carrying handles on top.

These clocks were constructed using solid and veneered woods such as mahogany, oak, or fruitwood, alongside cast brass for decorative spandrels, dial plates, and handles. The clockworks utilize steel pinions, brass plates, and silvered brass chapter rings.

Authenticity is verified by inspecting the movement design, checking for genuine crown wheel verge escapements, hand-engraved dial details, period-appropriate maker signatures, and natural age-related wear on the movement plates and timber casing.

An antique bracket clock creates a focal point when placed on a minimalist mantelpiece, a contemporary sideboard, or a library bookcase. Combining historic horology with clean architectural lines balances traditional craftsmanship with modern design.

Mechanical clocks require level placement on a stable surface and regular professional servicing every five to seven years. The timber case should be kept away from direct heat sources and maintained with natural beeswax polish.
