Hobson May Collection has dated this Regency Giltwood Convex Mirror to the Regency era.
The base of the frame is decorated with fluted and foliage, balancing the pediment. The original convex mercury mirror plate is surrounded by an ebonised reeded slip. Over the years the glass mirror plate has acquired a very attractive soft dappled effect, whilst retaining the reflective qualities of the mirror (please see the photographs) The general condition of the mirror is very good. This very high quality early 19th Century convex mirror is ready to hang.
