This good quality Edwardian Rosewood Bonheur Du Jour, benefits from a profusion of inlay and marquetry, with urn decoration to the doors, harebell decoration to the legs and half shell decoration to the upstand. The Rosewood veneer has good figuring and warm colour to it, that combines superbly with the inlaid line decoration and marquetry.
With five drawers and two beautifully fitted out top cupboards, it offers storage space as well as a writing area. The writing surface has a tooled dark red hide that suits the piece very well. The two brass balustrades between the finely turned pillars, along with the brass handles and castors, set the piece off superbly, and the mirror back lightens up the whole design.
