Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian corner cupboard is a space-saving storage piece designed during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries to fit into the ninety-degree angle of a room. These pieces often feature two sections, combining upper glazed display doors with solid lower storage panels.

Artisans constructed these cabinets primarily from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, with secondary timbers such as pine or oak for interior shelving and backboards. Glazed upper sections featured individual glass panes held by geometric wooden astragal moulding.

Authentic Georgian examples display hand-cut dovetail joints, hand-planed timber backboards, and original brass hardware such as H-hinges or escutcheons. Glazed panes frequently exhibit slight wave patterns or air bubbles typical of period cylinder glass.

Position the cupboard in an underutilised corner of a dining room or living space to utilise vertical height without reducing floor area. Display curated ceramics or glassware behind the glazed doors to create visual interest against light wall tones.

Dust the woodwork regularly with a clean microfibre cloth and apply beeswax annually following the timber grain. Clean glass panes using a mild glass cleaner applied directly to a cloth rather than sprayed onto the timber frame.
