Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the Regency era.
Clearly from a renowned and high quality workshop (perhaps Gillows or Holland & Sons?) this elegant whatnot has a pierced and shaped upper gallery; gently curving 'lyre-shaped' uprights; four further shelves with raised edges and a drawer (with a fretwork facade) to the base, all of which are in solid rosewood.
Gorgeous colour and in mint condition. 56ins (142cms) high overall.
This is a fine rare model and one which we have never seen before.
