Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
I am pretty sure it is English in manufacture going by the dovetails, locks etc. but it could be French.
Large size carved oak buffet with canopy top moulded and carved throughout.
The drawers being beautifully dovetailed together.

The top section has a paneled back with curved and paneled top section with various carvings and cluster columns to the sides.
This is one of those rare pieces of furniture that the more you look at it the more you can see. Worth special mention are the locks, the steel work is magical but they also have red silk in the middle behind the first lot of steel work.
There is one small length of return moulding missing on the right had side otherwise this is exactly as it was made and is a lovely colour.
