Description

Circa 1890, large solid oak Gothic hall bench. The raised back has a castellated top and four stylish carved panels depicting various gents in flowing gowns. The two rectangular arms have ogee moulded edges and are held in position by large blocks with Gothic style carved windows on the front and sides. The hinged tongue and groove seat has wrought iron strap hinges and opens to reveal a large storage space. Below this are four panels on the front and two on the side with carved linen folds. Good colour and clean.

Size 146cm high x 125cm wide x 50cm deep.
