Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The two circular tiers are of solid well-figured mahogany and are ribbon and beading carved around the edges, whilst the central column is also carved with stop-fluting and further beading around the top and bottom. It is supported on carved tripod cabriole legs with pointed pad feet and original 'barrel' castors.
A pretty Chippendale period piece, ideal as an occasional table ~ next to a settee for example. c.1770
