Victorian Burr Walnut Canterbury Whatnot Circa 1860

Description

This unusual VICTORIAN BURR WALNUT CANTERBURY WHATNOT dates from circa 1860.

The four section CANTERBURY, with open fretwork divisions and full-width drawer beneath, has a shaped shelf above finished with a fixed oval mirror supported by decorative carved brackets. The whole is raised on original brass and china cup castors.

The CANTERBURY WHATNOT is both decorative and practical.

The condition is good with original colour and patination. Likewise, the mirror is original with the normal wear to the silvering one would expect.
