The settle is constructed of solid oak panelled timbers. The back consists of eight raised fielded inset panels. Further fielded panels are also visible to the bottom of the seat and the sides of the settle. There is a working lid in the centre seat. The inside of the box settle is ideal for storing shoes and wellies in the hallway. The settle comes with a green velvet draylon swab foam cushion. The settle can be used with or without it depending on personal preferences. If you would like to have the swab cushion recovered, please contact us for a quote. The settle boasts down swept shaped oak arms to the sides and a pegged construction throughout. The settle features the original polish and patination and thus the colour of this settle is superb.

As this item boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.
Condition Report:
The item is in excellent condition and is commensurate with its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Later steel hinges to the seat lid. There are some later (possibly Victorian) elements to the seat section of the settle. The arms and back of the settle are completely firm. The settle comes with a green velvet draylon swab foam cushion, which is clean and free of marks or holes. If you would like to have the swab cushion recovered, please contact us for a quote.
