A Marsh and Jones 5 Piece Ash Bedroom Suite C 1875

Description

A fabulous Marsh and Jones of Leeds 5 piece Ash Bedroom suite c 1875 to a design by Charles Bevan in the Reformed Gothic style inlaid with boxwood walnut and ebony.

Comprising a combination wardrobe with castellated cornice with hanging space to the right hand side and trays and drawers to the middle and left;a mirror back dressing table; a marble top washstand ; a bedside cupboard and a towel rail.

This suite is of the highest quality and was based on the original designed for Titus Salt for his house at Milner Field by Charles Bevan in 1872 and now at Temple Newsam Museum near Leeds. The design by Bevan proved so popular that Marsh and Jones one of the best Northern Cabinet makers made further suites such as this for commercial sale.
