Description

Early Georgian Antique Box Seat Settle.

This period oak settle is a lovely, small size, it dates from around 1740 and features inventory initials stamped in places, this was very common in the 18th century as proof of ownership.

In very good condition given its age, with just one very old, Blacksmith repair to one arm.

The panelled base has a lid which lifts up to provide storage within the oak settle.

An unusual early Georgian Welsh box seat settle, now in Miles Griffiths antiques showrooms in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
