Hall Stand Coat Hooks Stick Stand Victorian Carved Oak C1880

Description

Here we have a finely carved Victorian oak Hall stand c1880. As you can see the stand has wonderful colour and patina. There is an elaborately carved pediment to the top with well executed Lion mask. There are chip and scale carvings with roccoco scrolls to the front of the top. There are chamfered edges to the sides of the original mirror plate. There is a very useful drawer which is solid oak lined and again has a well executed Lion mask to the front with handcut dovetail joints. Below there is an equally useful cupboard with a single shelf and working lock and key. The stick or umbrella section is split in two parts and has a wonderfully turned post to the corner with original drip tray beneath. The hall stand sits on original bun feet. There are varying degrees of quality in these stands this one as you can imagine is solid oak throughout and of very good quality. The dimensions are approx 87 inches high 36 wide and 13 deep.
