Settle Bench Figured Elm Bacon Settle George I C1720

Here we have the most stunning George I figured Elm bacon settle. As i hope the photos will suggest the colour and patina of this settle is breathtaking. The wood has been carefully chosen and is the most beautiful figured Elm. The two cupboard top can be lifted off. The two large cupboards are loackable and contain two shelves. The base has two solid Elm drawers. As you would expect there are a few very minor repairs but this is the most original I have seen of these rare pieces. This is also of excellent quality with all those extra efforts in construction you would expect from such quality. All the doors have beautifully moulded fielded panels. The sides are also panelled as is the base. There are full length wide original Elm planks to the rear. The seat is again thick solid Elm with stunning grain. The arms supports are beautifully turned with a nicely shaped arm rest. The drawers have wonderful grainy Elm fronts with solid Elm bases and sides. This museum quality piece is in great retail condition and ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 60 inches wide 74 high and 26 deep.
