Superb Art Deco Window Seat

A wonderful Art Deco period window seat or long low stool. The seat stands on a walnut base that is a solid structure which folds over at the ends into two large downward scrolls which then become the feet. The walnut is in excellent condition and of a good warm colour. The upholstered seat is webbed and sprung and has been newly upholstered in cream velvet with a black velvet band. The seat has two bolster cushions in black and cream velvet and black silk and can be removed if not desired. The upholstery has all been done to the highest level and the seat is finished off on both sides, so the front and back are the same. This is a very unusual art deco item and has a huge amount of charm and elegance. C.1920.
